I like your deep analysis and guide. Corporate ladder still works for many people who wish for particular rigid urban lifestyle it provides (or it’s the best option for them atm). As you said AI allowed to simplify infrastructure for solo entrepreneurs. I think there is one point I might add to your guide; you don’t need to be alone while building your business. It might work perfectly for some, personally I find at the beginning there are many barriers technical, knowledge, different set of skills. This side business journey is easier if you can find likeminded people and meet with them regularly. Nothing big 3-5 people, but not just to talk, have an agenda, what’s done, insights, goals. Have SOS moments support. In my experience, even when people are building different businesses but have similar approaches , ambitions, and mindsets, they enrich and help in unexpected ways.
Things are changing. Loudly or quietly, i guess we just need to start making something that matters for someone somewhere. Also, as you pointed out, for some dual track doesn’t work but that doesn’t mean there is no other way to make it happen, either.

Keeping the salary while you test it isn’t cowardly. It’s quite nice being able to say no to a rubbish client because the gas bill isn’t waiting on them.
The detail about the second laptop bought with personal money is what makes this: the physical separation says more about the shift than any framing of quiet quitting does. Someone still meeting every commitment but no longer treating their evenings as overflow capacity isn’t disengaged, they’ve just moved where the ambition goes.
