Great article John and a really useful framework and map to improve my personal development - unfortunately, I'm definitely a 1 out of 5 on hope, and this is something that I should be working on more in the future. Thanks for helping me realise this.
Brilliant offer John! So much value from a top top advisor and operator 🎁
Appreciate that, Chris! I wanted to remove friction and make this easy to act on.
This read like laying stones across a stream so people can cross without getting swept away.
Not flashy, just well placed, and suddenly progress feels possible.
Through the 5 Voices lens, this approach makes real sense:
Nurturers grow when learning serves people and purpose.
Guardians grow with clear structure and repeatable habits.
Creatives grow when curiosity is given room.
Connectors grow through shared language and conversation.
Pioneers grow when learning links directly to forward movement.
When teams recognise these differences, upskilling stops being generic and starts to stick.

Your job is to bring judgment, empathy, creativity, vision, and presence to the work machines make possible.
This is completely the right mindset. Don't try to outmachine the machine, let it give you space to bring out the best of your humanity.
I would hope people could carve out 10 minutes a day to be intentional around this stuff
Small daily effort beats waiting for perfect conditions.
have to have a strong understanding of EQ, this is was still separates us, in a good way
Trisha, do you see EQ getting more attention now, or still mostly ignored?
gets attention but maybe not enough practice/knowledge
human emotions are a looooong way from being AI emotions, and still the way we are unique beings
That gap is still very real, and it’s where people create real trust.
Robust and practical, and I appreciate the scenarios of different leadership styles to bring the concepts to life. Thank you!
You are very welcome!
So glad this one resonated with you.
This guide is like an operating bible!
I love how you incorporate the emotional intelligence component... no longer an option.
Dennis, appreciate that, the human side has to be built alongside the tools.
Love how practical this is. Human capabilities made concrete, measurable, and trainable.
Nazanin, making it usable day to day was the whole goal.

Once tools level the field, people make the difference.
Turning concepts like empathy or judgment into a 10-minute daily exercise builds those human skills AI can't replicate.
